The Fanny Holt Ames and Edna Louise Holt Fund, with Bank of America as trustee, was established in 1999 at the instruction of the donor, Edna Louise Holt, in order to "meet the medical needs of the Grafton, Vermont community and its surrounding towns." To date, the Holt Fund has invested approximately $6 million dollars in programs to improve community health outcomes.
The Holt Fund makes grants on an annual basis to support programs that: seek to address health disparities within the Holt Service area; improve access to care, particularly for vulnerable populations; and focus on prevention, health education, intervention, treatment, evaluation and a personalized approach to care. In addition, the Holt Fund grants funds to build the organizational capacity of individual agencies or collaboratives to better provide health and medical services within the Holt catchment area.
The Fund grants approximately $600,000 to $650,000 annually to non profit organizations. Grant applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations located in or providing health services in the following Vermont communities: Andover, Athens, Brookline, Chester, Grafton, Jamaica, Londonderry, Rockingham, Springfield, Townshend, Windham, Westminster, and Weston.
